Quality Assurance Inspector

Report to: Quality Assurance Supervisor

Summary:

Updates and maintains documentation files, logs and databases for production in the Ottawa/Markham location for Adeptron Technologies Corporation.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Document Control
• Updates assembly part numbers and revisions on work orders and issues to production when complete
• Provides work orders to correct departments directing first article build requirements to appropriate staff
• Ensures information on label request form correctly matches work order updating discrepancies
• Issues label request form to production, as required
• Maintains files on first article work instruction returned from production
• Creates extra copies of instruction and tracks copies issued
• Gathers finished work instructions, reviews for corrections/updates and updates file
• Updates Work-In-Progress work orders per Engineering Change Order (ECO) request, ROHS compliancy, cancellations, etc.
• Updates logs and work instructions per changes and tracks changes
• Archives documentation
• Assists stock room/shipping, as necessary
• Liaises with representatives from production, stockroom, sales as questions arise
• Makes few decisions as detailed instructions are provided on all work; refers decisions or questions outside the scope of detailed documented routines and procedures to supervisor

SKILLS

• Secondary school completion and a minimum of one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Basic knowledge of electronics components and production including industry technical standards (ISO, IPC)
• Basic knowledge in manufacturing information systems including Windows, databases, specific software
• Ability to read/understand BOMs, assembly drawings, and schematics, identifying a variety of electronic components
• Applies knowledge of the company’s business and customers as well as corporate policies and procedures
• Basic communication skills to deal effectively with immediate management, co-workers/team members in own and other departments, engaging in routine exchanges of factual information such as verifying status of work orders
• Ability to operate office equipment such as computer, telephone, and printer, which includes some repetitive motions requiring manual dexterity and some hand/eye coordination
• Works on assignments and resolves problems that are routine in nature


EFFORT

• Some periods of visual/mental concentration and attentiveness using sight, hearing, and touch to review documentation and differentiate part numbers
• Sits and/or stands in defined workspaces for extended periods of time, with periodic light physical effort to move archived boxes

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Works in an office environment, with exposure to multiple demands and distractions/interruptions
• Little exposure to hazards
